Artist: ELENA ZIHLMANN Our cities are planned, regulated, controlled, and shaped—to the benefit of some residents and to the detriment of others. Taking the ravens of Basel as its starting point, this project explores the tension between control and coexistence. It challenges the anthropocentric worldview that underlies most of our encounters with nature and highlights how quickly a love of nature turns into hostility as soon as the “other” intrudes into the space we consider our own.
